Terms & Conditions
These terms govern your use of Bites. By using the site you agree to them.
Who runs Bites. Bites is an independent project run by Liam Pell ("we", "us") from the United Kingdom. Contact: chat@menubites.uk.

1. What Bites is
Bites is a free curated guide to restaurants in selected cities. We pick a list, organise it by meal-time and neighbourhood, and let you save places to plan a trip. We do not take bookings, we do not process payments, and we are not a marketplace. Any reservation, ordering, or payment happens between you and the restaurant directly.
2. The information we show
We work hard to keep the listings useful and accurate, but:
- Opening hours, prices, menus, and contact details change. Always check the restaurant's own site or call ahead before relying on what you see here.
- Ratings and review counts come from Google and reflect Google's data at the time we last refreshed it.
- Curatorial picks reflect editorial opinion. They are not endorsements of, nor are they endorsed by, the restaurants listed.
We make no warranty that any listing is complete, current, or error-free, and we accept no liability for decisions made based on listing information (e.g. turning up to a closed restaurant). If you spot something wrong, email chat@menubites.uk.
3. Acceptable use
You may use Bites for personal, non-commercial purposes — browsing, saving places, sharing a saved list with friends. You may not:
- Scrape, crawl, or otherwise systematically extract our listings, photos, or descriptions.
- Use our content to train machine learning models.
- Republish substantial portions of our content on another site or product.
- Attempt to disrupt the service, bypass rate limits, or access non-public parts of the system.
If you'd like to use Bites data for something else, ask: chat@menubites.uk.
4. Intellectual property
- Our content (curatorial descriptions, layout, design, the Bites name) is owned by Liam Pell.
- Restaurant content (names, photos sourced via Google, websites, branding) belongs to the respective restaurants or to Google. We display it under licence (Google Places) or as a reference to the restaurant's own publicly published branding.
- Your saves belong to you. We do not claim any rights over the lists you build.
5. Restaurants: how to be removed or corrected
If you operate a restaurant featured on Bites and want your listing corrected, updated with better photos, or removed entirely, email chat@menubites.uk. We'll action removal requests within 7 days.
6. Saves and your data
How we handle your saves and any other personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. Bites saves are anonymous and stored against a device ID generated in your browser. Clearing your browser storage will erase your saves on that device.
7. Changes to the service
Bites is a v1 product. We may add cities, change the design, or remove features without notice. We may also discontinue the service. If we shut it down, we'll give reasonable notice on the site and provide a way to export saved places.
8. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability to you arising out of or in connection with Bites is limited to £100. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot be limited by law.
We are not liable for any loss arising from your reliance on listing information (incorrect hours, an unexpectedly closed restaurant, a menu that has changed) or from any interaction you have with a restaurant we list.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
10. Changes to these terms
We'll update the date at the top of this page when we change anything material. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
